

The top 10 most corrupt countries according to the 2020 CPI are: Third place on the "most corrupt" list goes to Syria, with a score of 14 out of 100. Tied with Somalia is South Sudan with a score of 12 out of 100. This is an improvement from the country's previous score of 9.
As in previous years, Somalia was ranked as the most corrupt country in the world, receiving a score of just 12 out of 100 (lower scores are worse). The January 2021 report incorporates data from 2020.

The lower the score, the more corrupt a country is perceived to be. Through this report, 180 countries are ranked on a scale from 0 to 100.
